Hey there, I’m Kevin Carpenter, Interior Designer.

Let’s make your house your perfect home.

Guiding Design Philosophy

I believe that our environment matters. The spaces we live, work, and relax in can lift us. I strive to combine color, pattern, and texture into a comfortable, beautiful space for you to enjoy for years to come, building casual, beautiful, functional interiors that reflect your individual style. I believe in bringing your existing treasures and favorite things into the present, rethinking each piece, allowing you to see them in a new light. I believe that successful interiors are best done right, the first time. I believe in beautiful homes!

ABOUT

I work with clients to create the homes of their dreams, whether they are designing from the ground up, refreshing their existing home after the kids have flown the nest, or updating a kitchen or master bedroom. Maybe your current home is perfect and you’re ready for your dream second home.

I began my career over twenty years ago with Gail Brinn Wilkins ASID, and continued honing my skills at top Charlotte architecture firm, Meyer Greeson Paullin Benson. I have a core principle that good design is best when done right the first time. I am an expert at space planning, custom molding details, and made-to-order furniture, cabinetry, furnishings, rugs, and window treatments. I bring my considerable knowledge and experience to each project, guiding clients to casual, beautiful, functional interiors that reflect their individual style.

I want to make the design experience easy and fun.

A great client/designer relationship will include a free-flowing exchange of ideas, sparking open discussion. It’s a two-way street with mutual respect between my clients and me. I believe in casual, productive meetings whether in your home, at the construction site, or in product showrooms.

Good design happens from collaboration between client, architect, contractor, and designer. A good designer should challenge you, hopefully out of your normal comfort zone. This is a time for you to go beyond what you believe is possible or what you’ve “always” done. You owe it to yourself to be open to new patterns, types of furniture -ideas that spring from our collaboration together.

And you won’t have to sift through thousands of decisions on finishes, paint colors, furniture, cabinetry, lighting. I’ll narrow down choices like these into a manageable few so you can pick with confidence.

I believe in being realistic and upfront about expectations, budgets, pricing, and deadlines. Lastly, I believe that designing your home should be a fun, exciting, rewarding experience.
